2026 New Mexico Summer Encampment Student Registration

We have added a few things to the student packing list for this update. First, we added black athletic socks to the uniform requirements. This allows us to change into the approved hot weather uniform during encampment, which requires black socks, but we still need to include white athletic socks to provide plenty of fresh undergarments for the cadets during the hot weather. For more information on this uniform, you can reference the “Hot Weather Uniform Memo - June 2025” on gocivilairpatrol.com. Second, we added new restrictions on electronic devices. The National Cadet Programs office has released rules on the use of personal electronic devices, specifically AI glasses (ex. Meta AI glasses). In short, they are not permitted at any cadet activities, including squadron meetings and other events with cadets in attendance. These devices, including location-tracking devices such as Apple Air Tags, are not permitted at the encampment due to security concerns and restrictions. Please ensure your cadet students do not have any electronic devices on their persons. Discovery of such unauthorized devices could result in removal from encampment.

We had a great commander and parent information meeting yesterday. With over 30 parents and commanders in attendance, we covered basic encampment topics and had members of our safety, health services, and chaplain teams discuss their roles at the activity and highlight key areas of compliance. I have attached the slides from that meeting in case you missed it. We plan to host at least one more meeting in April, so keep an eye out for details in the April update. If you have any questions or concerns about the encampment, please contact our administrative team at encadmin@nmcap.us.

Continuing our quest for a healthy and prepared student body at encampment, we have released the March workout plan. Continue to work on your fitness both at your squadron meetings and at home to better prepare you for the stressful and tiring environment of encampment. Feel free to adjust this workout as your fitness level improves. Remember that a healthy lifestyle also includes a balanced diet and regular physical activity.

Lastly, we have sent out first copy of the 2026 Standard Operating Procedures. I encourage everyone to review this document, as several important updates have been made to protect both students and staff at the encampment. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
