2026 Encampment April 01 Update

April 1, 2026

New Mexico Wing Members and Parents

Student applications have been steadily coming in from New Mexico Cadets eager to experience the excitement of encampment. Today, April 1st, student applications are now open to first-time out-of-state students. New Mexico first-time students can still apply until April 30th, but we expect student slots to fill up faster as our regional or national students begin registering, so please register sooner rather than later. Please remember to sign up for both the “parent” and “sub” events. You will need to select the “register” button twice to complete the registration. Registrations will now go through three approval levels: parents, squadron commanders, and wing commander, so make sure your cadet’s applications are fully approved by April 30th. If you have any issues, please contact our administrative team. The registration link is below.

As a reminder, the Cadet Encampment Assistance Program (CEAP) application window closes on April 15th at 5 pm CT. If you will experience hardship in paying for the encampment student and/or staff fee, please apply before the deadline. Do not pay the encampment fee if you plan on applying for CEAP. Selections should be released by the end of April.

We will hold our final commander and parent informational meeting on Saturday, April 18th, at 7 pm MST via Teams. The meeting invitation will be available on our wing website at the link below on the associated day. Please attend if you missed the last one, have questions, or now want to send your cadet to encampment. This meeting is only for commanders and parents, so cadets are not encouraged to attend.

Please do not expect students or staff to have time to complete schoolwork or summer programs while at the encampment. The activity is very busy, and no one has the extra time or energy needed to complete academic work, so it should be saved until after graduation.

Our final version of the student packing list is posted on the website. We only added the dormitory standards (to be covered later) to this version and feel that it adequately covers all requirements and supply needs for the students. Please reach out to our encampment administrator email encadmin@nmcap.us with any questions.

We are just under three months away from the start of encampment, which means the need for cadets to prepare physically is growing. Please keep your cadets accountable for completing the fitness plan or similar training to help them more easily face the stress and physical activity of encampment without injury or incident.

To finish up our publishing of encampment documents, we have sent out dormitory standards. This document was prepared by our cadet command staff and adult command team to support training our cadets at encampment. All students are expected to know these standards before they show up, and should not expect our staff to provide a printout of them. If any questions arise while reviewing these standards, please contact our encampment administrator team via email encadmin@nmcap.us.

Lastly, please check your eServices contact information and ensure your email contacts accurately reflect your primary email. If your contact information is incorrect, it will lead to a lack of communication regarding encampment, as our staff uses it to provide important updates leading up to the activity. The Wing is reviewing its outlook accounts for inactive or unnecessary accounts to deactivate. If you have a Wing Outlook account and do not use it, please ensure your eServices account does not identify this email as a contact. Reach out to Wing Public Affairs with any questions.
