About New Mexico Wing
Civil Air Patrol’s New Mexico Wing is the state-level organization of CAP, the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Headquartered in Albuquerque, the wing is made up of more than 700 cadet and adult members across 17 squadrons statewide. New Mexico Wing supports local, state, and federal partners with missions including search and rescue, disaster relief, and aerial imagery. With aircraft and crews positioned across the state, the wing provides critical support in emergencies, often operating in New Mexico’s unique high desert and mountainous environments.
In addition to emergency services, New Mexico Wing develops youth through the cadet program, which emphasizes leadership, aerospace education, character development, and physical fitness. The wing also partners with schools and educators to promote STEM education through hands-on learning and teacher resources. Whether flying missions, mentoring youth, or advancing aerospace education, New Mexico Wing members proudly serve communities across the Land of Enchantment.
