NEW MEXICO WING SHIELD EMBLEM

(Approved 6 Oct 2022)

The New Mexico Wing Shield Emblem is a modern rendering of our legacy Disk emblem updated to conform to current USAF/ CAP guidance specifying Shield emblems for Group and above level organizations.

Legacy New Mexico Wing Disk Emblem (circa 1948)

The NMWG Shield emblem consists of the official symbol and colors of New Mexico, a Red (Pantone 200 C) New Mexico Zia symbol on Golden (Pantone Yellow 012 C) shield.  “Vigilant Wings”, derived from current style CAP wings raised 20 degrees from the horizon forming a shallow “V” shape with a full color classic CAP roundel at center replace the “droopy wings” that were the standard at the time the Disk emblem was designed.

“Vigilant Wings” represent the organization’s various aerospace/ aviation related themes, activities and missions; while its “V” shape evokes our motto “Semper Vigilans” and Volunteerism.
